Saint Laurent Brings Back the Clear Shoes Trend for Fall 2026

Anthony Vaccarello doubled down on the elongated slingback pump in his fall 2026 Saint Laurent collection, presented during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday.

While the pump silhouettes with extended toes felt familiar, they were refreshed with clear material conferring a sultry, retro look to accompany voluminous fur coats and lacy dresses.

Silhouette-wise, some pumps leaned toward a classic pointed toe while others featured a narrowed square tip. Many styles were accented with a cap toe and a thin trim along the upper, whether in simple black or snakeskin. (Reptilian shoe inspiration has also been seen in other recent shows, including Roberto Cavalli and Bottega Veneta.) Flared stiletto heels, which were halfway clear, could be spotted, continuing the dedication to transparency.

The elongated pump has become something of a house signature at Saint Laurent, popular on red carpets and beyond. The Amalia slingback style, for example, features a long, pinched toe and has been worn by the likes of Teyana Taylor. The Vendome slingback, while less avant-garde, has a long and sharp toe, too; it showed up on the Lyst Index’s roundup of the top 10 hottest products for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Some pumps on the fall 2026 runway showcased a glamorous statement embellishment. Still operating with long, narrow toes, the vamps were adorned with a tiered jewelry-like adornment that shone in the light. Other shoes were largely obscured by the slouching trousers of suit looks paying homage to the house’s iconic Le Smoking tuxedo for women.

Of the styling and accessories for the fall 2026 show, Miles Socha wrote in a WWD review, “Sleek chignons, smoky eyes and chunky gold jewelry, including dove-shaped earrings as big as brooches, also telegraphed the spirit of the house, while the sexy slingbacks with long snouts were pure Vaccarello.”
