Zendaya and Tom Holland are leading the headlines after reports of their marriage surfaced in the media recently. There had been many rumours about their relationship and engagement. Zendaya’s longtime stylist and close friend, Law Roach, recently revealed that the couple is already married. When the reporter asked whether the news was true, Roach stated, ‘It’s very true’. And since then, Zendaya and Tom’s relationship has hogged much of the limelight.
Zendaya revealed the reason behind guarding her relationship with Tom Holland
As a public figure, Zendaya knows that her fans have access to every aspect of her life. But the actress has kept her relationship with Tom private. In an interview with Elle US, Zendaya spoke about her public and private life, including her relationship with Tom. Speaking about the same, she said:
“Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public. I cannot be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace. And letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”
Tom Holland and Zendaya’s relationship
Tom Holland and Zendaya were rumoured to be in a relationship since their first movie together, Spider-Man: Homecoming, back in 2016. Despite never confirming anything, speculation continued to circulate. They initially didn’t confirm the news; however, in 2021, Tom and Zendaya were seen kissing at a red light in Los Angeles and later made their first public appearance as a couple on the red carpet in November.
By 2025, reports claimed that Zendaya was engaged after she was spotted with a ring at the Golden Globe Awards. Zendaya and Tom Holland initially didn’t confirm the news; however, the latter publicly called the actress his fiancée. According to a report by Just Jared, Tom proposed to Zendaya during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday. The report also states that Tom had popped the marriage question at Zendaya’s family home in the United States. However, before going down on one knee, Tom had obtained permission from her father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, months before the proposal.
Tom Holland revealed that his relationship with Zendaya is the most ‘sacred thing’
On a podcast, Tom Holland discussed his relationship with Zendaya and how privacy has helped them keep their bond strong. Tom appeared on the Jay Shetty Podcast on July 10, 2023, where he said he and Zendaya believe keeping their relationship private is the healthiest way to move on as a couple. He said:
“My relationship is the thing that I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it, I try my best to keep it as private as possible. We both feel very strongly that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, um, so I do try to keep as removed from it (Hollywood) as possible.”
