Best Dressed at SAG’s Actor Awards 2026

The Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards, had a first-time red carpet dress code, “classic Hollywood glamour,” and the stars took it in stride. The theme nodded to the 1920s and ’30s but left room for play. Silhouettes were long with controlled volumes and embellished with lace, velvet, sequins, and embroidery. Enhancing the theme were sheer panels and the occasional opera gloves that added drama with a side of glamour.

Jenna Ortega was rocking a Christian Cowen lace slip dress that was daring and channeled silver screen sirens from the era. Gwyneth Paltrow, back on the carpet, brought timeless elegance in a plunging black lace Givenchy gown that was also very 30s in mood. Queen of the carpet, Teyana Taylor, continued her rule with a one-of-a-kind sculptural, sequined dress by theatrical designer Thom Browne, while Chase Infiniti, a Louis Vuitton ambassador, lit up the carpet in a sparkling mermaid silhouette. Rose Byrne in Chanel and Odessa A’zion in Giorgio Armani showed two different sides to the theme, from refined and minimal to architectural and full-on theatrical – and both worked beautifully.

On the men’s side, the red carpet leaned on sharp tailoring with nods to the “classic Hollywood glamour” theme. Timothée Chalamet skipped a tie in a cream blazer and black trousers, adding a silver chain for a modern edge, while Michael B. Jordan kept it sleek and timeless in a perfectly cut Tom Ford suit.

Not very sure if dress codes are the way to go for future award red carpets, but this time around, watching how stars worked within the rules was entertaining, even if it clipped a few wings.
