On February 28, Connor Storrie hosted Saturday Night Live — and the crowd went wild, not only over his sketches like “Ice Skating” and “Stripper” (the former of which featured a cameo by “Heated Rivalry” co-star Hudson Williams) but also due to the fact that producers decided to bring out the U.S. women’s hockey team onstage for the occasion. Captain Hilary Knight and Megan Keller (who scored the overtime goal against Canada and helped her country clinch a 2-1 victory) joined Jack and Quinn Hughes from the men’s Olympic team for Storrie’s opening monologue: cleverly referencing the recent State of the Union debacle by remarking, “It was going to be just us, but we thought we’d invite the guys, too.”

As soon as Knight and Keller pulled up beside Storrie in the segment, the crowd erupted into uproarious applause. The older Hughes brother proceeded to thank the host for his congratulations on winning gold: “The last time the men did that was 46 years ago,” he added. “And the last time we did that was two whole Olympics ago,” Knight offered in return.

After the much-anticipated episode aired, SNL writers were praised by thousands on social media for their ability to address the recent team tensions in a classy and measured way. Many are of the belief that Storrie’s sketches — an artful mix of physical comedy and sharp one-liners — were Season 51’s best ones yet, and the buzz surrounding the female champs’ appearance still hasn’t subsided, either.

In fact, there’s been a renewed interest in women’s Olympic hockey team merch. Surprisingly still available at trusted brands and retailers like Nike and Fanatics, the tees, hoodies, and jerseys in question are complemented by custom Etsy creations that honor the performances of individual female players on the ice at Milano Cortina 2026.

Below, all the merch that’s worth grabbing to continue the celebrations: no trip to the White House needed.
