Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s team denies hospitalisation reports as false and baseless

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who turned 63 on February 24, is healthy and fit. Earlier today, a report claimed that the Love And War director suffered a heart attack on his birthday and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Now his team has dismissed the reports in a statement.

Bhansali’s representatives issued the clarification amid the ongoing speculation about the director being admitted at the Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai. His team has called the reports ‘completely false and baseless’.

The statement read, “Hello good afternoon. Reports about SLB being hospitalised are completely false and baseless. There is no truth to them. We request you to kindly refrain from carrying any such stories, as they have no verified source. Thank you for your understanding.”

Meanwhile, Bhansali’s next film, Love And War is now likely to release in cinemas in 2027, instead of its earlier anticipated release in 2026. The delay is reportedly due to the film’s shoot and post-production taking longer than initially planned, as reported by Pinkvilla.

Sources close to the production told the publication that a significant portion of the shoot is still pending. As a result, the makers have reworked the film’s timeline and shifted its expected release. However, no official announcement has been made by the filmmakers so far.

Love And War marks a significant reunion between Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor, following the actor’s debut in Saawariya. The project also serves as the filmmaker’s second collaboration with Alia Bhatt after the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi. Additionally, the film brings Ranbir back together with his Sanju (2018) co-star Vicky Kaushal, while also pairing Vicky with his Raazi (2018) lead, Alia Bhatt.

With the shoot expected to be completed by June and post-production likely to continue till the end of 2026 a release around January 2027 (Republic Day) or February 2027 (Valentine’s Day) is now being reportedly considered.
