Nike’s Marvel Comics-Themed Foamposites Are Coming Back for the First Time Since 2016

A fan-favorite Nike Foamposite style is reportedly making a return later this year for its 20th anniversary.

The Air Foamposite Pro “Dr. Doom” will be reissued during holiday 2026 according to new information shared by Sneaker Market Romania, Sneaker Files and @zsneakerheadz. 

The two-tone Black/White style features a black Foamposite shell with white accents appearing on the jewel Swoosh logo, liner and rubber outsole. While its black-and-white color scheme wasn’t the most obvious reference in Nike’s unofficial “Fantastic Four” collection from 2006, the stealthy style caught on nonetheless with fans of the Foamposite line for its easy-to-wear look. The style was reissued first in 2016 for its 10th anniversary and will reportedly come back once again this year.

Nike’s aforementioned “Fantastic Four” pack from ’06 was centered around the foursome of Marvel Comics protagonists and included an Air Max 90 inspired by Mr. Fantastic, an Invisible Woman-themed Air Force 1 Low, an Air Max 95 in the colors of the Human Torch and a Dunk High donning inspiration from The Thing. While the group was not officially licensed, Nike’s on-the-nose designs helped get the story across and resulted in one of the more memorable collections of the 2000s.

Some fans on social media have questioned how well the upcoming Dr. Doom reissue will sell, citing poor performance from the previous ’16 retro. However, with Nike’s recent attention to the Foamposite franchise, it’s likely that this upcoming rerelease will be met with renewed enthusiasm.

In addition to the Dr. Doom style, the Air Foamposite Pro will be released in both new and familiar styles throughout ’26 including a “Mummy Duck” Oregon Ducks makeup and a four-pack of pairs tied to other NCAA football teams.

The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Dr. Doom is set to be released this holiday season for an expected retail price of $240 from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Nike Sportswear retailers. The style code for the upcoming release is HF0794-003. In-hand images of the ’26 version have yet to surface, but the ’16 iteration appears here courtesy of GOAT.
