Vivek Agnihotri confirms ‘big nationalistic project’ amid Op Sindoor film buzz

T-Series and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri have reportedly joined hands for a film based on India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror centres in Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. A report by Pinkvilla suggested that the project is inspired by the “codename of India’s military strikes on terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).”

IndiaToday.in exclusively spoke to Agnihotri, who confirmed that he is working on a “big nationalistic project.” However, he refrained from revealing further details. Refusing to confirm or deny the report, the National Award-winning filmmaker said, “I am not disclosing any name. I am saying I am working on a big nationalistic project, and I will announce it at my own time. It’s very big, very interesting.”

According to Pinkvilla, sources close to the production house said, “Bhushan Kumar and Vivek Agnihotri have come together for their next film on ‘Operation Sindoor’. It will be produced under T-Series, and I am Buddha Production and the film will be directed by Vivek Agnihotri.”

The report further said, “It’s based on the codename of India’s targeted military strikes on terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the film draws from the developments that followed the tragic massacre of innocent civilians, most of them tourists, in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.”

    What is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was the codename for India’s targeted military strikes on terror infrastructures in Pakistan and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) following the deadly attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025. The operation was described as a calibrated response aimed at dismantling terror launchpads and preventing further cross-border infiltration.

The development comes at a time when T-Series is enjoying the success of Border 2. Meanwhile, Agnihotri’s last directorial venture was The Bengal Files, which released in September 2025.
