Pakistani cricketer, Imad Wasim, is currently leading the headlines after he announced his second marriage to influencer, Nyla Raja. The news of Imad’s second wedding came as a shock to many, as the announcement came just two months after his divorce from his ex-wife, Sannia Ashfaq. Soon after the announcement, Imad’s first wife, Sannia, exposed his ‘infidelity’.
Imad Wasim’s second marriage announcement, calling his first marriage ‘the hardest chapter’
Imad Wasim, the all-rounder, who represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs and 75 T20Is, announced the news of his second marriage in an official statement. Not just this, in the statement, he threw shade at his first marriage and termed it as “one of the hardest chapters”. In his words:
“I went through one of the hardest chapters of my life after a marriage that did not work. Even so, that chapter gave me the greatest blessings of my life, my children. I love them beyond words, and that love will never change.”
Imad Wasim revealed that Nyla Raja was ‘unfairly judged’ for his broken first marriage
In his statement, Imad also revealed that he tried to mend things with the hope that everything would change, but nothing happened. He also shared that Nyla Raja was subjected to a lot of criticism for his failed marriage. Confirming his marriage to Nyla, Imad wrote:
“I stayed longer than I should have, holding on to hope and trying to protect what mattered most to me. In doing so, I made decisions I regret. My delay and silence contributed to a situation where an innocent person was unfairly judged and subjected to criticism she did not deserve. I take full responsibility for that, and I carry that weight with sincerity and remorse. With the grace of Allah and guidance of my parents, I have now married Nyla”
What led to Imad Wasim’s divorce from his first wife, Sannia Ashfaq?
Imad and Sannia married in August 2019 in Islamabad. They share three children, daughter Inaya (born in 2021), son Rayan (born in 2022), and their youngest son Zayan, born in July 2025. When Sannia was pregnant with her third child, Imad was spotted with Nyla in London, sparking infidelity claims. Soon after that, Imad confirmed his separation from Sannia and cited personal reasons behind the split. He also stated that the decision came after “repeated conflicts” over the past few years that could not be resolved. The cricketer also stated that he would take full responsibility of their children.

After Imad publicly announced his split from Sannia, she took to her IG handle and shared an emotional note on her broken marriage. Sannia revealed the real reason behind the split and alleged that a “third party” was involved in the breakdown of their marriage. An excerpt from her note can be read as:
“My home has been broken, and my children have been left without their father. I am a mother of three, including a five-month-old infant who has yet to be held by his father. What ultimately ended this marriage was the involvement of a third party, whose intention was to marry my husband, which became the final blow to an already struggling union.”
Sannia Ashfaq reacts to Imad Wasim’s second marriage
Following the news of Imad Wasim’s second wedding, Sannia broke her silence with a highly emotional post on social media. Taking to her Instagram handle on February 17, 2026, Sannia alleged that she had been mistreated throughout their six-year marriage. She also claimed that Imad got her child aborted in 2023. Not just this, Sannia also claimed that he cheated on her, and the proof of it lies in his recent marriage.
