N.Hoolywood Fall 2026: Reinterpreting the Cold Weather Classics

Greenland has been in the news a lot lately but it’s the country’s climate and people that inspired Daisuke Obana’s fall collection, not its politics.

The designer of N.Hoolywood zeroed in on extreme cold and the barren landscape of Greenland, as well as that of Iceland and Finland, and translated that into a collection heavy on down vests, jackets and parkas.

In a virtual presentation titled “N.Hoolywood Compile,” Obana showcased beefy puffers, oversize cable sweaters, jackets in a variety of fabrics, and knitwear sporting patchwork designs in natural and synthetic fibers, many of which were developed specifically for fall.

“For this collection, I placed down vests and down jackets as inner layers across all looks, integrating them into relatively orthodox, traditional styling,” Obana said. “I wanted to reflect the distinctive sense of layering found in the dress of Indigenous peoples from places like Greenland and Iceland, as well as in cultures shaped by severe cold. I feel that this unconventional order of layers is expressed throughout the looks.”

Once again, Obana showcased his ability to take traditional garments and make them feel fresh and current.
