Noida Metro Aqua line extended to Sector 142 with 8 stations

In a major push to urban connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, the Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142. The project is expected to significantly enhance last-mile connectivity and ease daily commuting across Noida and adjoining areas.

The expansion will add eight new elevated metro stations and is estimated to cost 2,254 crore.

    KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROJECT

    • Extension from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142

    • Total length: 11.6 km

    • Eight new elevated stations to be constructed

    • Estimated cost: 2,254 crore

    • Project duration: Four years

    • Implementation by Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC)

    • Total metro network in Noida and Greater Noida to cross 61 km after completion

    BOOST TO CONNECTIVITY AND INTERCHANGE

Botanical Garden will serve as a crucial interchange station, linking the Aqua Line with Delhi Metro’s Blue and Magenta Lines. This integration is expected to provide seamless travel options for commuters travelling between Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi.

The extension aims to reduce travel time, lower congestion on roads and offer a more sustainable public transport alternative.

    SUPPORT FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

Noida has emerged as one of the fastest-growing manufacturing and service economy hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR). Improved metro connectivity is likely to benefit office hubs, residential sectors and industrial areas along the corridor.

The project is also expected to enhance real estate development and generate employment opportunities during the construction phase.

    STRATEGIC URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE PUSH

The approval aligns with the Centre’s focus on strengthening urban infrastructure and promoting mass transit systems in rapidly expanding cities. By expanding the metro footprint, authorities aim to encourage public transport usage and reduce vehicular emissions.

Once completed, the Aqua Line extension will further integrate Noida and Greater Noida into the wider NCR transport network.

The project marks another significant milestone in the region’s urban mobility roadmap, promising improved accessibility and economic momentum for residents and businesses alike.
