Mary J. Blige Hits the Michael Kors Show in Her Signature Knee-high Boots Style

On Thursday night, the Michael Kors show drew in a fashion-forward crowd, with the likes of Leslie Bibb, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabrielle Union-Wade and Mary J. Blige among the notable celebrity attendees. The latter posed up a storm at The Metropolitan Opera in Lincoln Center, clad in a bold, texture-heavy outfit featuring suede boots. 

Styled by Jeremy Haynes (known as NoIGJeremy in the industry and on social media), Blige embraced a rich tonal brown palette for the show. Her over-the-knee boots featured a soft, slouchy silhouette and a sleek, pointed toe, subtly elongating her frame. A slim stiletto heel, meanwhile, lent a bit of drama to the otherwise pared-back boots. The “You Ain’t the Only One” hitmaker layered the shoes over skin-tight suede pants in a slightly lighter shade, creating a dimensional, head-to-toe effect.

Though the boots certainly made a statement, the true pièce de résistance of Blige’s look was her Michael Kors faux fur jacket. Designed with elbow-grazing sleeves and a structured high neckline, the shaggy outerwear was cinched at the waist with a thick brown leather belt, giving the voluminous silhouette a defined shape.

Blige fully committed to the monochromatic moment, pairing the coat with a coordinating faux-fur handbag. She doubled down on brown suede gloves, wearing long gloves in the same hue as her boots. Blige rounded out the neutral ensemble with oversize sunglasses and chunky gold hoops. Sporting a deep brown lip, the singer’s beauty moment mirrored her tonal look.

Blige wasn’t the only celebrity who got the brown memo. “The White Lotus” star Leslie Bibb, too, arrived in the color, opting for a structured jacket and matching billowy pants, accented with two matching leather belts and pointed-toe heels. Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, chose a rich chocolate brown silky blouse and a coordinating maxi skirt for the show.
