Actors Barun Sobti, Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee are reportedly coming together for a new Netflix series. The project would mark a rare collaboration between three of India’s most sought-after streaming stars. The project is said to be directed by Sudip Sharma and is currently filming in Mumbai
According to a Variety India report, the makers are aiming for an early 2026 premiere on the streaming platform. The plot and other details are currently said to be shrouded in secrecy.
Sudip Sharma’s next project
However, sources told the portal the project would be a complete departure from Sharma’s previous work. The script is reportedly powerful enough to unite three of the most sought-after performers in India’s streaming space.
Sharma is known for his gritty, realistic approach to storytelling. His filmography includes acclaimed titles such as NH10, Udta Punjab, Sonchiriya, Paatal Lok and Kohrra. Sharma has built a reputation for exploring social divides, regional cultures and the underbelly of society in his work.
Reunion of familiar collaborators
The series marks a reunion of sorts for Sudip Sharma with these actors. Sharma previously worked with Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee on Amazon Prime Video’s Paatal Lok, while Barun Sobti led two seasons of Sharma’s acclaimed Netflix show Kohrra. Though plot details remain under wraps, expectations are high given the past collaborations.
What’s next for Jaideep Ahlawat
Jaideep Ahlawat, recently seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, continues to expand his filmography. He will next appear in Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Hisaab, followed by roles in Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam 3 and Siddharth Anand’s King.
Barun Sobti’s packed slate
Barun Sobti also has a busy year ahead. In addition to the new Netflix series, he will star in three other web projects: Hardik Mehta’s Ikatthe, a comedy series by Konkona Sen Sharma with Aditi Rao Hydari, and the third season of the popular series Asur.
Abhishek Banerjee’s upcoming projects
Abhishek Banerjee is set to appear in multiple upcoming projects, including Mirzapur: The Film, Baaghi Bechare, Lust Stories 3, Side Heroes and Rahi Anil Barve’s Gulkanda Tales, adding to his growing list of streaming and film credits.
