Exclusive | Teddi Mellencamp shares positive health update amid ongoing cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp is feeling hopeful — and honest — as she continues navigating her ongoing cancer battle.

During an exclusive chat with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum shared a positive update on her physical health while opening up about the emotional toll that has lingered behind the scenes, especially after her father, John Mellencamp, recently said publicly that she had been “suffering.”

“I think physically, I’m in a good place,” Teddi, 44, tells us. “I think what he was saying when he said ‘suffering’ is what we don’t often talk about when it comes to cancer, is how you feel after all of the surgeries and all of the testing … how your mental state is doing. And that has been suffering.”

The reality star — who has been candid about her melanoma diagnosis and subsequent metastasis — clarifies that while her body has been responding well, the emotional recovery has been far more complicated.

“I’ve been in therapy,” she shares. “I’ve been working really hard trying to figure out, find that peace, find that happiness, find that joy, find myself again.”

Teddi came forward with her stage 2 melanoma diagnosis in October 2022. She underwent more than a dozen surgeries to address the disease — including an emergency procedure in 2025 to remove several tumors in her brain.

“Going onto surgery, I didn’t even know what was happening,” she recalls. “I went in thinking I had a headache. I was working the Super Bowl with Tamra [Judge] and then the next day I went in to the hospital thinking I had migraines. And that’s when they found the tumors in my brain and my lungs.”

“So it’s not something that I thought about for months leading up to it,” she adds. “It’s just, ‘Oh, OK, you’re in surgery the next day.’”

Last October, Teddi shared that her cancer — which had also spread to her lungs — was gone. However, she has said that it will be some time, possibly years, before doctors declare that she’s officially in remission.

Now, the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast co-host says she’s focused on moving forward — physically stronger and emotionally more self-aware than ever. Her famous father’s comments, while alarming to fans, were ultimately rooted in concern.

“He hates seeing me go through anything,” she previously explained, noting that their family has always been open about the harder parts of life.

When we caught up with Teddi, she was fresh off her run on Fox’s “The Masked Singer,” a challenge she said helped her reconnect with joy during an otherwise heavy chapter.

Between therapy sessions, health updates and new creative ventures, Teddi remains committed to transparency — not just about surviving cancer, but about what comes after.

“People talk about being strong,” she said. “But sometimes strength is admitting you’re still figuring it out.”

“The Masked Singer” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
