“He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend,” the statement concluded.
James is survived by six children with Kimberly, aged between 15 and 5. The couple first met in 2009 and tied the knot the following year.
In 2024, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. He said of the diagnosis in an interview last December, “It’s been the wildest, hardest journey I’ve ever had in this lifetime. It’s required more patience, more discipline, more strength than I knew I had, quite frankly. But there’s also been a lot of beauty in it.”
