Suzuki Motorcycle crosses 10 million production mark as it completes 20 years in India

Suzuki Motorcycle India has hit a major manufacturing milestone, rolling out its 10 millionth two-wheeler from its Gurugram plant. The achievement comes as the company completes two decades in the country and reflects a sharp acceleration in production over recent years.

The first 5 million units took the manufacturer 14 years to build, a milestone reached in 2020. The next 5 million were added in just six years, driven by sustained demand and an expanded model lineup. The celebratory unit was a Suzuki Access Ride Connect Edition, currently the brand’s highest-selling scooter.

    Access 125 remains the backbone

While Suzuki’s portfolio today spans scooters, commuter motorcycles and big bikes, the Access 125 remains the company’s defining product. Introduced as India’s first 125cc mass-market scooter, it has evolved through three generations and continues to dominate Suzuki’s sales volume.

Other scooters like the Burgman Street and Avenis, as well as the Gixxer 150/250 series and adventure-oriented V-Strom SX, have helped broaden the company’s footprint. In the large-capacity segment, Suzuki’s India-assembled Hayabusa played a key role in building the brand’s premium image.

Flex-fuel and EV plans take shape

Looking ahead, Suzuki is pushing a multi-pathway approach to alternative mobility. It recently introduced the Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel, compatible with E85 petrol, and has confirmed its first electric two-wheeler for India, the e-Access.

    Expanding reach and capacity

The manufacturer currently has over 1,200 sales and service touchpoints and exports Indian-built models to more than 60 countries. To prepare for future demand, it is developing a second plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, which will increase overall manufacturing capacity once operational.

Customer offers to mark the milestone

To mark the 10 million-unit achievement, Suzuki has rolled out limited-period benefits, including:

Loans with zero processing fee or a waiver of the last EMI
    A 10-point complimentary vehicle check-up
Discounts on labour and genuine accessories.
