Kate Middleton kicked off her birthday week in burgundy.

The Princess of Wales brought back her Roland Mouret power suit in one of her favorite colors on Thursday for a surprise visit to Charing Cross Hospital in west London — the day before celebrating her 44th birthday.

It was the fourth time Middleton has worn the suit in public since December 2022, though the mother of three gave it fresh styling for the appearance.

She paired it with a Me+Em silk top ($345 $241) in deep ruby red, creating a striking monochromatic moment.

Middleton originally debuted the single-breasted blazer and wide-leg trousers during her 2022 Boston trip for the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, opting for a pink pussy-bow blouse and Chanel accessories.

The look returned twice in 2023 for low-key royal engagements before making a meaningful comeback in October 2024, when Middleton met with 16-year-old photographer Liz Hatton battling cancer at Windsor Castle.

The princess completed her look with Gianvito Rossi pumps in brown ($795), a brown suede Demellier London purse ($525) — the same bag she carried on Christmas Day — and Cartier Trinity Earrings in 18-carat rose, yellow and white gold ($3,850).

Middleton joined husband Prince William at the hospital to support healthcare workers during the challenging winter virus season. The unannounced visit marked the couple’s first royal engagement of 2026, as they are joint patrons of NHS Charities Together.

“Catherine and I just had a very nice tour round the rehabilitation unit upstairs,” William, 43, shared during the visit. “Both of us had different experiences with hospitals, me working with the air ambulance and Catherine with her recent health journey.”

The choice of burgundy holds particular significance for Middleton. She wore the rich hue for her first public appearance after completing chemotherapy in September 2024, and again when she visited the Royal Marsden Hospital — where she received cancer treatment — on Jan. 14 last year, announcing her cancer was in remission.

The princess has made re-wearing pieces a signature of her royal wardrobe, particularly with Roland Mouret designs.

The French designer has been a frequent contributor to her closet since she entered the royal family, with the burgundy suit joining a camel version and several evening gowns in her collection.
