ATS detains 4 in Maharashtra’s Beed over alleged funding to radical groups

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained four suspects following an operation in the Patoda area of Beed district.

An ATS officer said the suspects are accused of using fake bank accounts to collect money. The agency suspects that the funds collected were allegedly transferred to terrorist or radical organisations.

According to preliminary findings, the accused used QR codes linked to bank accounts to collect money. Initial investigation suggests the funds were allegedly routed to radical organisations.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad said further investigation is underway.
