Ahead of actor Yash’s 40th birthday on January 8, fans in Bengaluru have transformed the Bengaluru Metro into a moving tribute by placing specially designed birthday posters on trains. The gesture follows a series of hoardings put up across the city a day earlier, reflecting the deep admiration for the actor in his home town as celebrations build up to the milestone.
In a video that has since gone viral, fans are seen fixing posters on the metro train. The visuals feature custom-designed images of Yash, stills from his upcoming film Toxic, and personal photographs. Some posters also show Yash with his close friends, accompanied by a Kannada message that translates to, “With best wishes from friends of Yash.”
The makers of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups shared the video on X, writing, “For the first time ever, Bengaluru Metro becomes a birthday tribute! Fans take over the metro ahead of #RockingStarYash Birthday.”
Since its announcement, Toxic has generated significant buzz, with much of the attention focused on Yash’s new screen persona. “Yash turning 40 is a huge moment for his fans, and the team felt there couldn’t be a better occasion to introduce the world of Toxic,” said a source close to the film. Fans are also eagerly awaiting the teaser, which is expected to be unveiled on Yash’s birthday.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic features Yash in a stylised gangster role, marking a clear departure from his earlier characters. Earlier on the same day, the makers unveiled the first-look poster of Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa, following earlier character reveals of Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara and Tara Sutaria.
