Members of the royal families in Europe have mastered the art of sticking to the royal dress code while also dressing warmly for the winter. Boots have been the footwear of choice over the years, and suede styles have been their preferred choice during this holiday season.
Both Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla have their go-to pair of suede boots that they have stuck to over the years, and others have followed suit, opting for tall or knee-high boots with a block heel that makes walking easier but still provides an elegant boost in height. Queen Camilla attended the Christmas Day morning church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, on Thursday. She stepped out in a crimson red ensemble, which included an OC 981 hat in red by London-based milliner Philip Treacy. She paired it with a midi-length Fiona Clare Aldridge coat, which she decorated with a Raspberry Pip brooch in gold and silver. She broke up the monochrome look with black accessories, which included black gloves, Russell & Bromley heeled boots and a Charles Laurie London handbag.

On Christmas Day, the Princess of Wales arrived at St. Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham with husband Prince William and their three children, wearing brown suede Gianvito Rossi boots. Middleton styled the Gianvito Rossi boots with a brown tartan Blazé Milano coat, and accessorized with a patterned scarf, a Juliette Botterill felt lace fascinator with a snowflake detail, Cartier Trinity earrings, and her DeMellier Hudson bag. The monochromatic brown palette is a shift from her typical Christmas Day style, which usually sticks to festive greens, reds, and cobalt blues, and went for this year’s trendy brown.

Anne, Princess Royal, who is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, also relied on a pair of knee-high boots to complete her look. During an outing on Sunday for a church service, she also stuck to an all-brown palette down to her shoes. Fairfax & Favor Regina heeled knee-high boots in the Fog shade, which is a blend of gray and brown.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, attended the Sunday morning church service at St. Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham on Dec. 28. She wore a long wrap coat in a light beige color with a wide-brimmed hat in a rich brown shade. She paired the look with the Penelope Chilvers Sinatra suede boot in the color biscuit. The square-toed Sinatra boot sits just below the knee and features a mid-height heel. They are currently on sale for $406.
