China to cut import tariffs on key commodities and medical supplies in 2026: Report

China said on Monday it will revise import tariffs on a range of products from next year, cutting duties on key resource-based materials, including recycled black powder used in lithium-ion batteries. The changes also include lower import levies on selected medical items such as artificial blood vessels and diagnostic kits for certain infectious diseases.

In a statement, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council said provisional import tariff rates for 935 products will be set below the most-favoured-nation rates that apply to World Trade Organization members.

The tariff adjustments signals Beijing’s efforts to support strategic sectors, reduce import costs for essential materials and medical supplies, and encourage trade as it reshapes its tariff policy for the year ahead.
