Kawasaki has introduced the 2026 iteration of the Versys 650 in the Indian market, pricing the adventure tourer at Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The update brings a marginal price increase of Rs 15,000 over the outgoing model year, while the motorcycle itself remains largely unchanged apart from a new colour option and compliance with E20 fuel norms.
What’s new for 2026?
For the new model year, the Versys 650 gains a fresh grey-and-black paint scheme accented with Kawasaki’s signature green highlights. Beyond this visual refresh, the overall design, equipment list and mechanicals remain the same as before.
Engine and performance
The Versys 650 continues to be powered by Kawasaki’s 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, which is shared with several other models in the brand’s lineup, including the Ninja 650. The motor produces 67bhp and 61Nm of torque and is now fully compatible with E20 petrol.
Touring-focused hardware
As a road-biased adventure tourer, the Versys 650’s strengths lie in its upright riding posture, tall stance and suspension setup. It features long-travel suspension with 150mm of travel at the front and 145mm at the rear, along with a 4-way adjustable windscreen to suit varying riding conditions. A 4.3-inch colour TFT display handles rider information and connectivity-related functions.
The motorcycle also boasts a generous 21-litre fuel tank, which aids long-distance touring. With a kerb weight of 220kg, a seat height of 845mm and 170mm of ground clearance.
Pricing and rivals
At Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 continues to occupy a relatively niche space in India’s middleweight touring segment. Its closest alternative is the Honda NX500.
