DIOR ADDICT SCENT TRIUMVIRATE: Jisoo, Anya Taylor-Joy and Willow Smith, faces of Dior makeup, are to embody three new Dior Addict fragrances.
They are: Dior Addict Rosy Glow, Peachy Glow and Purple Glow. Each was conceived by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s perfume creation director, and reinvents the brand’s signature flowers of rose, jasmine and iris.
The house said in a statement that “the three stars express the radiant facets of carefree youth on a quest for deliciously spontaneous olfactory pleasure.”
“It is the perfect occasion for them to bring to life an incredible Dior Addict revolution in glowing images bursting with energy, where perfume dialogue with the iconic Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil created by Peter Philips,” Dior said, referring to the house’s creative and image director for makeup.
He has reinvented the lip oils with cherry oil to keep lips moisturized for 24 hours and smoothed for eight hours, according to Dior. The product formulas still react to skin’s pH levels for bespoke color and shine, but the new iteration has two new finishes, Sparkly and Glaze, in addition to the original Juicy finish. There are now 16 shades.
“Dior Lip Glow Oil already existed — it had been a key product for several years now,” said Kurkdjian in a separate statement. “And so I took inspiration from that realm — that colorful, joyful realm, which I interpreted for three Dior Addict scents. I needed to create perfumes that would convey luminous sensuality and embody the spirit of today’s young generation, which is pretty dynamic.”
He described the new fragrances as gourmand, round and colorful.
Philips said the story behind Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil is unbelievable.
“At that time, two years before COVID, we had come up with an idea for an oil that would be a treatment, while also delivering color that would adapt to the lips,” Philips said.
“We were the first to develop this type of oil, which shouldn’t be mistaken for a gloss,” he continued. “The product was launched and was well-received, but no more than that. Then during the confinement, Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil went viral on TikTok and sales exploded. It sold out in a few days, and its career as a star was launched.”
The three Addict fragrances will be introduced in many parts of the world starting Jan. 1, save for the Middle East, which is set for Feb. 1, and China and Latin America, which are slated for March 1.
The new lip oils are due out worldwide on Jan. 1, except for China, which is scheduled for March 1.
