Aiko appeared to be wearing the Elevated Ghillie Platform in black with a croc-effect embossed design. The style, influenced by Scottish Highland regalia, reimagines the classic ghillie brogue. The Made in Italy shoe features a thick block heel and hefty rounded platform in addition to an open design sans tongue with laces intersecting across the foot and wrapping around the ankle with tassels at the end. Accessorizing the shoe for December weather, Aiko also wore a pair of thick gray ankle socks which offered a unique layer to the striking silhouette.

The musician previously wore black Ghillie platforms with a pink plaid Vivienne Westwood minidress at the GQ Men of the Year event earlier this month. She was styled by Sam Woolf for the occasion.

The Vivienne Westwood Ghillie style with a reptilian-inspired print has held relevance in the world of celebrity fashion in 2025 — Ice Spice donned pair in New York City earlier this month, and Jenna Ortega wore a pair to a “Wednesday” event in Paris over the summer. Famously, Naomi Campbell fell on the runway wearing a Super Elevated Ghillie when walking as part of Vivienne Westwood’s fall 1993 show in Paris.

Beyond Vivienne Westwood, Ghillie shoes — worn in Irish dance, Scottish dance and Scottish highland dance — have experienced a revival this year in the fashion world, with multiple brands putting a spin on the lace-up look.
