Michael Jordan’s Original Air Jordan 13s Are Coming Back for the First Time Since 2017

The return of Michael Jordan’s “True Red” Air Jordan 13 has been rumored since March and now, official product images confirm the sneaker’s reissue is imminent. 

Set for a March release is the True Red colorway of the Air Jordan 13 Retro. One of just four original mid-top styles released through 1997 and 1998, the White/Black/True Red/Pearl Gray look was first made available in ’98 and has previously been rereleased twice: first in 2010 and again in 2017. While the most formal nickname is True Red, the pair is sometimes referred to as “Team Red,” “Cherry” or “Chicago.”

With a dimpled white leather upper, the key feature on this Air Jordan 13 Retro is its bright True Red suede paneling on the midsole and heel, the latter of which wraps up the medial and lateral sections of the shoe. The reissue of the Chicago Bulls-themed colorway is as eye-catching as ever and includes all of the Air Jordan 13’s signature elements including a heel hologram Jumpman logo. 

While the Air Jordan 13 hasn’t been seen as frequently in recent years as it sometimes is in Jordan Brand’s retro lineup, the model appears poised for a big year in 2026. In addition to this True Red makeup, the sneaker is expected to be rereleased in its original Flint Gray colorway as well as a low-top variation of the “He Got Game” colorway worn by Denzel Washington’s character in Spike Lee’s ’98 film. 

Although the e-commerce assets featured here are the grade-school sized version of the sneaker, readers can expect the style to be released in full-family sizing come next spring.

The Air Jordan 13 Retro True red is set to be released on March 13 with retail pricing for men’s sizes (style code 414571-102) set at $210, with grade school (style code DJ3003-102) coming in at $160.
