OpenAI CEO Sam Altman left the internet in splits after showing the new ChatGPT Images feature in a unique way, which he shared on social media.
In a post on X discussing the newly introduced Images tab on ChatGPT, Altman shared a screenshot showing how users could generate images directly within the platform.
He captioned it, “Also a very fun way to use it to easily get fun images in ChatGPT,” setting the stage for what came next.
In a hilarious turn of events, Altman followed up in the replies with a simple “For example” – and dropped an image that immediately caught everyone’s attention. The picture appeared to show Altman himself reimagined as a shirtless firefighter-themed calendar model, complete with festive Christmas lights, a dramatic pose, and a December calendar layout beneath.

Still rendered speechless over Altman’s “example,” users also appreciated not just the tool but Altman’s willingness to poke fun at himself. Several saw it as a lighthearted demonstration of how easily the feature could generate imaginative, high-quality visuals.
Reactions poured in from users across the platform. One user wrote, “Easy fun images are the slippery slope to full-on obsession,”
“I will have so much fun with this one,” another user quipped. Others praised the example as the most entertaining product demo they had seen in a while.
