Lily Allen, Iman and More Attend the Sotheby’s Creators & Collectors Dinner

Sotheby’s celebrated their list of “Creators & Collectors” with a dinner party inside the legendary Breuer Building on Tuesday evening. The inaugural honorees included Jon Batiste, Thelma Golden, Peter Marino, Julian Schnabel and Jen Rubio.

Guests including Lily Allen, Iman, Barbara Bush, Chase Sui Wonders, Anna Weyant, Tory Burch, Ulla Johnson, Wes Gordon, Carolyn Murphy, Gabriela Hearst, Jean Pigozzi, Conner Ives, Natalie Massenet, Nili Lotan, Pamela Hanson, Reed Krakoff and more packed into the Breuer’s lobby for a cocktail hour prior to dinner.

“It’s Prada,” Wonders said of her multicolored coat, posing for her picture. “So good.” Most of the other guests wore all black, despite the festive season. Iman stood regally with a fur stole draped over one shoulder, chatting with Laura Brown. Pigozzi roamed the room with a camera in one hand and a tiki-looking cocktail in the other. Aby Rosen and Vito Schnabel shrugged in agreement when asked for a photo-op.

“Yeah, yeah, it’s very Sotheby’s,” Allen was told as she posed in her Chanel ensemble. Batiste was heard before he was seen, his signature booming laugh resounding as he made his way into the building with wife Suleika Jaouad. The two made a beeline for his fellow honoree Golden.

Upstairs on the fourth floor, long dinner tables were propped up throughout the rooms, past artwork like Francois-Xavier Lalanne’s Hippopotame Bar and glass artist Dale Chihuly pieces. New Year’s plans were discussed (St. Barths is the verdict for more than a few) and miniature bottles of Don Julio 1942 were doled out pre-dinner.

Sotheby’s head of media Kristina O’Neill gave remarks and Batiste surprised the crowd with a performance.
