An 18-year-old teenager was stabbed to death in Gujarat’s Rajkot city following a fight among friends during a birthday celebration. The victim, Dharmik, reportedly harassed a beggar, prompting his friends to intervene.
The incident took place on Monday night when the victim, identified as Dharmik, was out celebrating his friend, Rahul’s birthday with seven other people.
According to the police, the group had stopped for tea when the victim started to harass the beggar despite his friends objecting to it.
However, the confrontation quickly turned into a heated dispute, leading to additional friends being called to the scene. Mayur, a rickshaw driver and cousin of Rahul, was among those who arrived in an attempt to calm the situation.
As Mayur tried to reason with Dharmik, the latter allegedly abused and insulted him. In a fit of rage, Mayur stabbed Dharmik on his chest and abdomen, leading to his death on the spot.
Police have arrested Mayur and a probe is currently underway.
