The stars were out in full force on Saturday night in Los Angeles for Variety’s annual Hitmakers red carpet event, styling designer looks from the Ralph Lauren and Versace runways, among others.
Both Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae elected to go retro with their respective designer looks, harkening back to the early aughts with their strapless dresses. Blackpink’s Rosé, Ejae off “KPop Demon Hunters” fame and more showed their penchant for designer pieces, as well. WWD breaks down those looks and more ahead.

Styled by Jared Ellner, Carpenter wore a strapless dress from Ralph Lauren’s dreamy spring 2003 collection. The romantic dress was crafted with a tapestry of muted, butter yellow tones, featuring angular stitching throughout and a formfitting silhouette with a cinched waist for added definition.

Blackpink’s Rosé opted for a design from George Keburia’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection. Curated by image architect and stylist Law Roach, Rosé’s look was a botanical-inspired, white minidress with a flowing train designed with sharp lines and angles. The Saint Laurent ambassador’s look was made complete with strappy white heels by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Like Carpenter, McRae also turned to the early 2000s with her Versace look. The “Sports Car” singer wore a strapless dress from the Italian luxury fashion house’s fall 2003 ready-to-wear collection, featuring a chiffon skirt with asymmetrical angles, a corseted bodice and structural elements throughout in a soft mocha shade. She paired the dress with pointed toe pumps in a similar color tone. McRae’s look was curated by styling team Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo.
Ejae

“KPop Demon Hunters” breakout star Ejae wore a sleeveless dress from the fashion label Mother of All. The little black dress included a keyhole cutout on the bodice near the bustline and a formfitting silhouette with a midi hemline. A textural appliqué was added to one shoulder of the dress, and the singer added a pair of metallic pointed toe silver heels to complete the look, which was curated by stylist Kate Li.

Sofia Richie Grainge put a spin on maternity wear with her Schiaparelli dress. Styled by Thomas Christos, the Stuart Weitzman campaign star’s sleeveless dress featured a flowing bodice with a high neckline and accentuated Richie Grainge’s baby bump. An A-line skirt added proportional juxtaposition to the overall look.
Beginning in 2017, the Variety Hitmakers event spotlights the artists who had a significant impact on the music industry during the year. Carpenter was Variety’s 2025 Hitmaker, recognizing the success of her seventh studio album “Man’s Best Friend.”
