Ahead of his visit, Putin issued a stern warning to European nations regarding the Ukraine conflict, stating, ‘We are not going to fight Europe, I have already said it a hundred times. But if Europe suddenly wants to fight us and starts, we are ready right now.’ The Kremlin has emphasized that the visit will focus on the ‘special and privileged strategic partnership’ between the two nations. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighted that the relationship rests on a ‘deep historic background of mutual understanding’. The summit will cover defense, energy, and trade ties.
