Kylie Jenner is closing out the fall season with a new nail design.
The 28-year-old billionaire beauty mogul welcomed the winter season ahead, pre-Thanksgiving, with her signature round-shaped talons wrapped in a multicolor plaid print. Created by celebrity manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, artist to pop culture “It” girls Hailey Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter, the detailed design presented like a kaleidoscope of cold weather tones and muted neutrals, from lavender to light brown.

On one hand, thin lines were drawn with multiple axis, while thicker stripes were filled by darker hues like rose taupe and dusty blue. The curved tips protruded from her fingers; the design adding contrasting texture on top of her white fur coat in the picture shared on Ganzorigt’s Instagram page.
In a follow-up post on her Instagram story, the artist demonstrated her technique, starting with a base coat of OPI’s baby pink gel polish named Put it in Neutral. She then drew the larger lines on top of Jenner’s nails before going in with the thin counterparts. “I mixed all colors with top coat to create these jelly colors,” Ganzorigt explained.

Between pastel blue tips with tiny olives to black and white polka dots, Ganzorigt’s designs range from bespoke to classic. The visionary has conceptualized and carried out almost all of Bieber’s viral nail designs, including the glazed donut brown for fall and the milky pink for the 2022 Met Gala. She’s also created the rhinestone-dotted extensions seen on Sydney Sweeney at the 16th Governors Awards back in November.
While Bieber and Sweeney have often collaborated with Ganzorigt to come up with these playful details, Jenner, for the most part, prefers natural nails. That is, however, with the exception of the plaid extensions and her neon nails throughout her “King Kylie” era. The recent revival of her anti-ingenue aesthetic for the 10-year celebration of Kylie Cosmetics saw her don two-inch long turquoise shimmer talons, created by Ganzorigt, that looked as if they’d been dunked in sugar like Fun Dip. Jenner’s recent “King Kylie” stint also included bubblegum pink nails and jet black almond-shaped extensions with her alter-ego spelled in crystal lettering across.

Her vintage plaid design may just be an Easter egg for Jenner’s forthcoming Christmas decor. Every year, amid the holiday season, each member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan unveils their unique pick of wrapping paper and ribbon with videos and pictures of presents under their tree (or trees, in some cases). Last year, Jenner printed the faces of her daughter Stormi and her son Aire under Santa hats on pink paper with velvet ribbon. In 2023, she opted for a timeless illustration of Santa riding his sleigh.
