Abhimanyu Yadav, younger son of Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday married Ishita Patel in a mass marriage ceremony held near the banks of the Kshipra River at Sanwara Khedi, Ujjain. The wedding took place alongside 21 other couples, reinforcing a message of simplicity and social equality.
The ceremony featured traditional hues: grooms arrived on horses and brides in decorated carriages, with a festive procession and cultural touches replacing grand displays of wealth.
Organisers had prepared a spacious venue, with multiple pavilions, a large stage and amenities for thousands of guests.
The wedding invitation explicitly discouraged ostentation. Instead of expensive gifts or lavish settings, the event was designed to highlight social harmony and modest celebrations.
In remarks at the ceremony, Abhimanyu said he was glad to begin married life in a mass wedding: “It brings double happiness” and expressed hope for a “happy life ahead.”
