Ed Sheeran makes shocking marriage admission on brutally honest new album

Ed Sheeran made a shocking confession about struggling in his marriage to his wife, Cherry Seaborn, on the deluxe edition of his September album, “Play.”

With 13 additional songs, the “Thinking Out Loud” hitmaker, 34, used the additional tracks to reveal the toll his three-year Mathematics World Tour took on his home life.

In his song, “Problems,” Sheeran sings about grappling to fix the problems in their relationship.

“Flowers in our garden are dying. When did the water run dry? Who can tell? But you want the truth, we’re not fine,” the lyrics read. “We got problems, and we don’t know how to solve them.”

He doubled down on his troubling feelings in his track, “War Game.”

“Every day we feel deflated. Tryna roll with all the changes. Reality of what we’ve created,” he sings.

“There’s no one above or below you, you are all I want. But I feel that it’s not enough, to just offer you my love.”

“Inches from movin’ out and movin’ on . . .  either in love or we’re insane,” he continues.

In “Regrets,” Sheeran talks about feeling remorseful as a parent because of his time spent away from his young daughters.

“You’re too young to understand that Daddy’s coming home. Every time I leave the house, you think I’m forever gone,” he says on the song.

“Guess it’s from the hundred calls, goodnights on the telephone. See this tour, I’ve gotta get it done, but why though? Missed out on so much, I really need to make it up.”

A rep for Sheeran did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Reports that the “Perfect” hitmaker reportedly tied the knot with Seaborn surfaced in February 2019. According to the Sun, the pair married in an intimate ceremony held at their home in Suffolk England over the Christmas holiday.

Sheeran later confirmed Seaborn was his wife in July of that year in his interview with Charlemagne tha God as he discussed the nod to his partner on his album, “No. 6 Collaborations Project.”

Sheeran and Seaborn first met as children and became romantically involved in 2015, according to People.

The couple announced their engagement in January 2018.

“Got myself a fiancée just before the new year,” Sheeran posted on Instagram at the time. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”

The lovebirds went on to welcome two daughters together: daughter Lyra Antarctica, who was born in August 2020, and Jupiter, whom they welcomed in May 2022.
