A massive fire broke out in a four-storey in south Delhi’s Tigri Extension, leaving three people dead and two injured on Saturday evening. The firefighters rushed to the spot and soon brought the blaze under control.
One of the victims has been identified as Satender, who was also the owner of the building. The reason behind the sudden breakout remains unknown.
According to sources, the fire first affected a footwear shop on the ground floor of the house, and it soon spread across all the floors. A call was dialled at the police control room, and the police soon reached the spot, and they called the firefighters.
Upon learning about the incident, the firefighters soon rushed to the building with four vehicles and brought the fire under control. They also started rescue operations. However, they failed to save the three people who lost their lives in the fire.
Nevertheless, two women have been rescued and sent to the local hospital for treatment. The firefighters are presently carrying out further rescue operations.
