A woman travelling on a train recorded a video of a man who stared at her constantly throughout the journey.
Sayaba, a content creator, shared the video on Instagram, which has garnered over 13 million views so far. She said the man eventually left the coach after some of her followers recognised her and intervened.

The video left social media users stunned. One user wrote, “This is a major problem in India. Even though there were multiple men in the compartment, no one dared to say a word. It reflects our inability to protect our sisters. There’s nothing funny in this reel; it shows a serious flaw in our society. Instead of laughing, we should confront this issue.”
Another user said, “Staring is not, but offending the modesty of a woman is. If he is so blatant about being sexual, he should be charged and treated as an adult.”
“As a man, I felt uncomfortable after watching this. It is difficult to imagine how women deal with such behaviour. Kudos to every woman for their patience,” a user added.
The video also triggered conversations about what constitutes an offence under Indian law. While staring alone is not a standalone crime, it can become punishable if it is driven by explicit sexual intent, causes discomfort, or falls under legal definitions of stalking or insulting a woman’s modesty.
