EXCLUSIVE: Jacquemus Launches Skiwear Collection With Nike

PEAK CHIC: Fans of French label Jacquemus’ sun-drenched Provençal aesthetic can now wear its designs on the slopes as well.

Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus has launched his first skiwear collection as part of his ongoing collaboration with sportswear giant Nike. Famed for his cinematic shows in settings ranging from a lavender field to the Palace of Versailles, Jacquemus has had a winter pop-up in the French ski resort of Courchevel since 2023.

It joins brands ranging from Loro Piana to Zara who are leveraging the upscale image of winter sports with seasonal activations and dedicated skiwear capsules.

The 18-piece Nike x Jacquemus Après Ski apparel collection, ranging from Gore-Tex jackets to stirrup leggings, dropped Wednesday at Jacquemus stores and on the brand’s website. It will launch on Dec. 3 at nike.com and selected retail partners.

“I have always been a fan of skiing: it’s my favorite sport and has been my favorite winter getaway since I was young,” Jacquemus said in a statement shared exclusively with WWD.

“Ski attire has always fascinated me, and I’m a big collector of vintage ’80s ski pieces. This collection with Nike is an opportunity for me to bring a new fashion story into our collaboration and into the ski community, which is a first for me,” he added.

The generous cuts of the his ‘n’ hers ski jackets, available in black and pale neon green, reflect those retro influences, as well as the rounded shapes of the brand’s signature tailoring. They feature an exterior water- and windproof shell with a zip-in interior bomber jacket.

“Working with technical fabrics, learning from the best, and bringing forward a minimal and modern execution was a super interesting process for me,” the designer said.

Other women’s items include a bralette and a woven jumpsuit made of a stretchy and water-repellent fabric. The men’s assortment features a long-sleeve top with thumbholes, and a classic men’s shirt rendered in a waterproof material.

In parallel, Jacquemus has joined forces with French specialist brand Lacroix to create a pair of skis with orange and black stripes, and a matching mask, available beginning Dec. 1 at jacquemus.com.

Jacquemus teamed up with Nike in 2022 on a collection inspired by vintage Nike ACG outdoor gear and 1990s Nike campaigns. More recent collaborations include the Swoosh bag and a reinterpretation of the 1972 Moon Shoe.
