The Indian woman from Arunachal Pradesh who was detained in China for 18 hours during a transit at Shanghai Airport described her nearly day-long ordeal, saying she had no access to food and was only allowed to move between her seat near a small immigration desk and the toilet.
Speaking exclusively to India Today TV, the woman, Prema Wangjom Thongdok, said that immigration officials at Shanghai’s Pudong Airport had no written document to explain why they were holding her.
She recounted that one of the officials even asked her why she had not applied for a Chinese passport, which she found very “confusing” and “outrageous.”
