Sun-drenched Scandal: The Slim Aarons-style glitz captured so vividly by the Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale” is now accessible to a wider public. Until January and on the occasion of the show’s second season, Palm Beach’s landmark The Colony Hotel has transformed itself into the Floridian-pink-drenched, exclusive social club portrayed by the show.
As a part of this collaboration with Apple TV+, the hotel has been staged to echo that of the set in which the series’ protagonist Maxine Dellacorte (played by actress Kristen Wiig) social-climbs her way through a 1960s high society drenched in scandal.
On Monday, the hotel said its grounds are currently open to all guests and visitors and that the transformation will extend throughout the property with themed cocktails, desserts, curated decor and more.
“You can’t think of Palm Beach without thinking of our Pink Paradise, and you can’t think of ‘Palm Royale’ without the world that inspired it,” said The Colony Hotel owner Sarah Wetenhall.

The hotel is also offering a “Stay Royale” package — a three-night escape complete with a 1960s convertible, curated vintage wardrobe, a private historian-led tour, a photoshoot with photographer Nick Mele, and butler service fit for Palm Beach royalty.
There’s also merchandise to be had. A special “Palm Royale”-inspired collection by outdoor lifestyle firm Business & Pleasure Co. made its debut around the hotel’s grounds and pool earlier this month. The same patio umbrellas, lounge chairs, side tables, pillows and bar cart on display can be purchased on the website and at select retail locations. Prices start at $69 for a throw pillow and $1,799 for a resort umbrella.
Opened in 1947, The Colony, which is often referred to as “Pink Paradise,” has long been a major hot spot for the Palm Beach glitterati and international jet set. Slim Aarons famously photographed its poolside in 1961. Judy Garland, Lena Horne, John Lennon, Sophia Loren, and Frank Sinatra rank among its celebrity guests.
The second season of “Palm Royale” aired starting on Nov. 12. In addition to Wiig, the Emmy Award-winning series stars model Kaia Gerber, Ricky Martin, Carol Burnett, Leslie Bibb, Josh Lucas, Allison Janney and Laura Dern.
