A federal appeals court on Saturday refused to allow the Trump administration to expand its fast-track deportation program, which sought to permit expedited removal of migrants living well beyond US border regions.
In a 2–1 decision, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals declined to pause a lower court ruling that found the expanded policy violated migrants’ due process rights by allowing them to be detained and deported from anywhere within the country.
