Rihanna continued to redefine postpartum style with her latest monochrome look while out in Santa Monica on Thursday night.
The rainy evening didn’t stop the Fenty Skin founder from displaying her high-fashion acumen. Rihanna wore a black puffer jacket with spiky detailing throughout and a furry hood, creating a thick collar effect beneath the mononymous singer’s chin.

The fluidity of Rihanna’s look was matched by the singer’s maxiskirt, which continued the black tonal motif of her attire. Exposed seams featured on the design of the skirt, augmenting the edgy detailing, from the spikes to the leathery material and more.
Going incognito, Rihanna wore a pair of bold sunglasses, akin to the Balenciaga shades Cynthia Erivo styled for her “Wicked: For Good” New York City premiere attire, sparking a potential trend for thick-framed glasses with a masking effect.

Following the birth of her third child, daughter Rocki Irish Mayers, with partner A$AP Rocky, Rihanna’s postpartum fashion has gravitated toward layering. Among her first postpartum public events she attended, Rihanna hit the CFDA Awards red carpet in a look from Alaïa by creative director Pieter Mulier.
As she’s done with her postpartum style, Rihanna redefined her pregnancy wardrobe as well. For a similar night out in Los Angeles in July, the Savage x Fenty founder gravitated toward another Alaïa look customized from the fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection.

The look included a cropped, sleeveless white top with a hood, putting the singer’s pregnant belly front and center, and a “doughnut” style skirt with an exaggerated element at the hip and column silhouette in white.
Apart from her high-fashion nights out, Rihanna’s businesses have made moves into consumer-friendly spaces. In September, WWD’s Beauty Inc exclusively reported that Rihanna’s Fenty Skin was entering Ulta Beauty with a new, exclusive body collection.
“Our brand philosophy has always been ‘Beauty for All’ — so we had to bring the new collection to Ulta, especially since it’s the first time they can experience Fenty Skin in this unique and curated way,” Rihanna said of the business development.
