Filmmaker Milap Zaveri’s sex comedy Mastiii 4 has released in theatres today. It tells the story of three friends, played by Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, and their crazy adventures. Zaveri got talking about the film in an interview with us.

Who are the target audience for Mastii 4?
The target audience is that who loved Masti, Grand Masti, Kya Kool Hain Hum, etc! Mass and youth who love this naughty genre and come in large numbers to cinemas to laugh and get paisa vasool entertainment.
Are you targeting only the single screens?
The film has a huge release. Single screens and multiplexes. It’s the first choice for exhibitors this week.
What was it like coming together with the Masti cast again?
It was amazing reuniting with Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani. They are still as mad and hilarious as they were two decades ago! This time, Masti has Golmaal and Dhamaal also with the addition of Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi!
Are you prepared for the critical backlash?
The critics have never enjoyed this genre and I respect their views. But this genre is for mass audiences and not critics.
You just delivered a big blockbuster
I’m grateful for the blockbuster success of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. And I’m hoping that Mastiii 4 also rocks the box office. If Deewaniyat made audiences cry, Mastiii 4 will make them laugh till they cry.
Your next release?
My next release is Tera Yaar Hoon Main in which I’m launching Indra Kumar sir’s son Aman Indra Kumar along with Akanksha Sharma and Paresh Rawal. It’s a wonderful family romcom and I’m very proud of it. Especially of the amazing performances by Aman and Akanksha. That releases early 2026.
