The much-anticipated trailer of Dhurandhar has set the stage for one of the year’s most talked-about action dramas, with Arjun Rampal’s intense transformation as ISI Major Iqbal—also known as the “Angel of Death”—becoming a key talking point. At the recent trailer launch event, Ranveer Singh revealed that Arjun shot for the film despite sustaining injuries during production, praising the actor’s commitment to the role.

Arjun Rampal, who appears in one of his most menacing avatars to date, credited director Aditya Dhar for crafting a world that pushed every actor to bring something new to the screen. He said, “Thanks to Aditya Dhar. Jab paper pe unhone script sunayi thi (when he read out the script on paper), itni ambitious film – woh back karne ke liye we needed somebody like Jyoti Deshpande and Jio, and without that none of us would be standing here. Jo bhi iss film ke saath jude hai (anyone who has been associated with this film), I would like to thank everyone and all the actors – Thanks to Aditya Dhar for making us look so different and unrecognizable on screen, during the process.”
In the trailer, Rampal’s portrayal of Major Iqbal emphasizes a darker, more layered performance—one that leans heavily into the character’s brutality and cold resolve. His appearance and tone mark a distinct shift from many of his previous roles. During this interaction at the trailer launch, Arjun was also highly appreciative of his co-star Ranveer Singh who plays the titular role.
Dhurandhar brings together an ensemble cast including the likes of Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and debutant Sara Arjun in lead roles. The film, written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, promises a high-stakes narrative woven with action, political tension, and dramatic confrontations. With its powerful lineup and larger-than-life scale, the film is positioned as one of the major theatrical offerings of the year. The film is set to release in theatres on December 5, 2025.
