Saumya Tandon, widely adored for her vibrant and cheerful screen presence, is set to showcase an entirely new side of herself in Dhurandhar, the upcoming action-drama headlined by Ranveer Singh. The actress, known for her charming roles on television and in films, revealed that Aditya Dhar’s directorial has pushed her into one of the most demanding characters she has ever played.

Tandon shared that her decision to come on board was driven purely by her admiration for filmmaker Aditya Dhar. “I did the film for a DhuranDhar himself – Aditya DHAR, the director, writer and producer. I’ve always wanted to work with him. It’s a small part, but one of the most intense roles I’ve ever taken on. Audiences are used to seeing me in chirpy, vivacious characters, so this will be different,” she said.
While her role may be brief, it places her directly opposite two of Bollywood’s most compelling performers — Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna. For Saumya, sharing every scene with the duo was both an honour and a high-pressure challenge. “All my scenes are with either Akshaye Khanna or Ranveer Singh. Akshaye is a complete scene-stealer — I’m honestly nervous about who will even look at me when he’s in the frame!” she added with a laugh.
The actress also went on to praise Ranveer Singh’s powerful turn in the film, expressing her admiration for his performance. “I feel this is Ranveer Singh’s best performance and he deserves every bit of the love coming his way,” she said, calling his work in Dhurandhar a career peak.
Directed, written and produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious releases of the year. As reported by us earlier, the film is designed as a multi-part franchise and features a heavyweight ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan.
Set for a theatrical release on December 5, Dhurandhar promises intense drama, powerful performances and a gripping story — and with Saumya Tandon stepping out of her comfort zone, audiences will witness a striking new dimension to her craft.
