Kunal Kemmu is all set to headline Single Papa, a warm and relatable family comedy series premiering on December 12 on Netflix. The story follows Gaurav “GG” Gehlot, a kind-hearted yet immature man who, moments after finalising his divorce, impulsively adopts a baby a decision that leaves his family stunned, especially since they believe someone “who cannot keep track of his socks” is hardly ready for parenthood.

Netflix introduced the show with a playful caption: “Chhota packet, aur bohot bada dhamaka Gehlot parivaar ke kalesh mein aapka swagat hai. Watch Single Papa, out 12 December, only on Netflix,” setting the tone for the humour and chaos to come. Co-created by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, the series is directed by Shashank Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya, and Udhwani, with Khaitan also serving as executive producer under the Juggernaut Productions banner.

Talking about the show, showrunner Shashank Khaitan said, “I am so excited to create a family entertainer again. Single Papa is full of heart, laughter and a lot of fun. Working with this amazing team has been wonderful, and I can’t wait for audiences to enter this colourful world of an unexpected father and a tiny baby who steals every scene.”
Playing GG, Kunal Kemmu shared his emotional journey, commenting, “This role made me smile, laugh and even tear up at times. Parenting is not perfect, but it is full of love and learning. I hope audiences enjoy GG’s journey as much as I enjoyed playing him.”
The show also stars Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, and Prajakta Koli, adding more charm to this ensemble. According to Filmfare, Single Papa seeks to present parenting in a way that feels real but light, grounded yet full of heart.
