The very talented Siddhant Chaturvedi is playing the doyen of Marathi and Hindi cinema V Shantaram.
Here’s how Siddhant Chaturvedi impressed the makers of V Shantaram biopic, film to be directed by Abhijeet Deshpande
According to a source very close to the project, Siddhant was selected for the honour after much deliberation.
“The producer and director were not convinced Siddhant would pull off the role as Shantaram and Siddhant are many generations apart. However, Siddhant bowled them over with his homework,” said the insider.
Siddhant went to the audition after watching all of Shantaram’s classic from Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani and Do Aankhen Barah Haath to Navrang and Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje.
The shooting of this portentous biopic, to be directed by Marathi actor-director Abhijeet Deshpande, starts in March 2026.
The project will be announced officially on V Shantaram’s birth anniversary on November 18.
