Basavaraj Rayareddi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s economic advisor, questioned the timing of the Delhi blast which claimed 12 lives in the backdrop of the Bihar elections, suggesting it raised political doubts while clarifying he had no proof.
“They might have felt they couldn’t win Bihar after the first phase, so they tried in the second phase,” he said. “I can’t directly allege that since I don’t have proof. But a day before Bihar elections it happened? It raises a question in my mind. We definitely have some suspicion”
“BJP and Prime Minister are not all clean as they claim For the sake of power they can do anything,” he added.
Karnataka Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed also questioned the timing of the explosion, saying there were speculative reports of political angles but no confirmation.
“The 10th elections were held on 9th, we are getting information there might be political involvement which is speculative,” he said. “Making use of innocent lives for political gains is not right This happened in Delhi, intelligence failure, Amit Shah should answer,” he added.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge demanded a thorough probe and accountability from the Centre, saying the incident pointed to lapses in Delhi’s security apparatus.
“Let there be a thorough investigation, the culprits should be punished,” he said. “Despite all these agencies, the government has failed.” He said the matter would also be discussed in Parliament when it convenes on December 1.
