Sonakshi Sinha, currently promoting her film Jatadhara, has spoken candidly about the role of mistakes and learning in her life and career. During a conversation with IANS, Sinha shared her belief that errors are not something to be feared but embraced as opportunities to grow.
Sonakshi Sinha on embracing mistakes; says, “Mistakes are nice, they keep things exciting”
Sonakshi said, “You learn by making mistakes. How else would you learn? Even as children, that’s how it is. When a child falls, they learn. So I feel that applies to every phase of life and every profession people are in. Mistakes are nice, they keep things exciting. The learning process, I feel, should never stop. The day you think, ‘You know, I know everything’, that’s your end, it’s over, go away, sit down,”
She added, “So I feel the learning process should never end, and I feel we’re in a profession where every day is a learning experience, you learn something every day.”
In the interview, Sinha also addressed the concept of “pan-India” films and working across different languages and industries. Asked whether this wider reach added pressure, she replied: “The more the merrier, I guess. We work with such wonderful artistes, and get to learn so much from each and every one, everyone has their own story to tell, and for me, I think that’s the best part about working with people from different regions, different languages, different industries, cultures and communities.”
Her remarks reflect a grounded approach to her career a willingness to accept imperfection, to keep evolving, and to draw inspiration from diverse collaborators. In an industry often defined by glamor and success, Sinha’s perspective serves as a reminder that growth is iterative, and that every stumble can lead to a stronger performance, a new skill set, a deeper appreciation for the craft.
