Raveena Tandon recently opened up about her past engagement to Akshay Kumar and the ongoing public curiosity surrounding it.

Many celebrities strive to keep their personal lives private, but fans often feel a sense of “pseudo-intimacy,” which leads to continued discussions about their relationships long after they have ended. Raveena and Akshay are a prime example. The actors dated in the 1990s and were briefly engaged, but they later parted ways and have since moved on with their lives.
During a recent appearance on the ANI podcast, Raveena was asked about how people still search for information about her engagement with Akshay Kumar. When reminded of the year it took place, she laughed and said, “Forgotten about it.”
Acknowledging that some on-screen pairings remain memorable, she added, “Yeah, I think we were very popular, especially after Mohra. Even now, when we meet socially, we chat. But everyone moves on. Girls are changing their boyfriends every week in colleges; since then, to now. But one broken engagement is still stuck in people’s minds. I don’t know why. People have divorces, people move on—so what’s the big deal?”
Raveena also addressed reports suggesting Akshay was dating people who resembled her. She said, “I would not read anything written about that. Why unnecessarily raise your blood pressure? Better not to read it at all.”
Raveena has been happily married to Indian film distributor Anil Thadani for 21 years. Their daughter, Rasha Thadani, made her acting debut this year with the film Azaad. On the professional front, Raveena and Akshay are set to reunite on screen in the upcoming film Welcome to The Jungle. Fans are eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated project.
