    Maharashtra govt felicitates Mandhana, Jemimah and Radha with Rs 2.25 crore reward


    In a momentous recognition of their historic achievement, members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team were felicitated on Thursday at Varsha bungalow, the official residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

    The event celebrated India’s first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title, won on November 2 after defeating South Africa. Vice Captain Smriti Mandhana and team members Jemimah Rodrigues and Radha Yadav were honoured by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for their outstanding contributions to the team’s triumph.

    Each of the three players received a cheque of 2.25 crore as a cash award, while Head Coach Amol Muzumdar was presented with a cheque of 22.5 lakh. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Sports Minister Adv. Manikrao Kokate, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar, Principal Secretary Sanjay Khandare, and Commissioner Sheetal Teli.

    In addition, bowling coach Avishkar Salvi, Padma Shri Diana Edulji, analyst Aniruddha Deshpande, and members of the support staff, Apama Gambhirrao, Mihir Upadhyay, Purva Kate, and Mamta Shirrulla, were also felicitated for their contributions to the team’s success.

    Chief Minister Fadnavis further announced a cash award of 11 lakh for all members of the support staff, acknowledging their vital role in India’s World Cup victory.
