Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a unified entrance at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday in New York City, with their footwear doing most of the talking.

Rihanna anchored her Alaïa look with shiny black shoes, into which she tucked her wide, pleated white trousers. The shoes’ sculpted silhouette and glossy finish added structure to her fluid layers. She paired the outfit with an oversized navy trench coat, cinched loosely at the waist. Her hair was swept to the side in a soft yet directional style, and minimal jewelry kept the focus on the tailoring and texture of her ensemble.

A$AP Rocky, who arrived in Chanel, mirrored Rihanna’s tonal restraint with a tailored black jacket layered over a pale yellow knit and loose black trousers. His two-tone Chanel shoes, cream with black cap toes, grounded the look, bridging old-school Parisian refinement with Rocky’s downtown sensibility. He accessorized the look with a gold brooch.

Rocky is this year’s recipient of the Fashion Icon Award, previously awarded to Rihanna in 2014. The rapper was recently spotted in New York, filming a secret project for Chanel alongside actress Margaret Qualley.
The event also marked Rihanna’s first red carpet since giving birth to their baby daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
