On Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, fans got a special surprise with the reveal of the much-anticipated film King, along with an electrifying video teaser and poster that quickly went viral online. The film is set to showcase SRK in a new avatar — suave, powerful, and magnetic — while reuniting him with director Siddharth Anand after their blockbuster success with Pathaan (2023).

During the SRK Day fan meet, the superstar spoke about his evolving relationship with Siddharth Anand. Reflecting on their journey, he said “I think Siddharth is a very organized director. I learnt a lot from him. I didn’t know how to play an action hero before working with him. I have done a couple of action films, but when a director guides you and tells you certain things while you’re performing a scene, you have to be smart enough to take it on board — understanding how to play a massy, strong hero.”
He added, “I have never played roles like that — maybe Karan Arjun had a similar tone. Baazigar was more of a thriller. Whatever Sid told me, I imbibed, and it even helped me in Jawan.”
Speaking about their deepening collaboration, SRK continued, “As we’ve become friends over the last two to three years, he’s begun to understand how I want to shape a new kind of macho hero. He’s a very aesthetic director — wonderfully aesthetic. He makes things beautiful without making them ‘pretty.’ It just looks natural. He’s a big filmmaker.”
“I’m really enjoying working with him because there’s so much more creativity given to him,” he concluded with a smile. Siddharth Anand, known for redefining action storytelling in Hindi cinema, continues to push boundaries with King. Following the massive success of Pathaan, this actor-director duo’s reunion promises another adrenaline-fueled cinematic spectacle, as glimpsed in the teaser video.
Directed and written by Siddharth Anand, King is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Marflix and is scheduled for release in 2026.
